Dr. Murdock

Dr. Murdock attended the University of Utah where he studied Biology and Chemistry. He then attended medical school at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where he furthered his interest in ophthalmology. He remained in Washington DC where he completed a medical internship and ophthalmology residency at George Washington University.

  • His wife is a nurse and was born and raised in Cottonwood Heights
  • They have four beautiful children
When Dr. Murdock is not caring for his patients, he enjoys many different hobbies and activities. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children hiking, traveling, and playing board games. He loves to participate in any competitive sports and has recently developed a love of pickle ball. He has an interest in medical innovation and entrepreneurship and helped bring slit lamp adapters for ophthalmic imaging into his residency program. He hopes to continue to develop this with ophthalmic product development.

Dr. Murdock’s honors and awards include the Volunteer Merit Scholarship, Nominee for the Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award Nominee Howard, Chief Resident in Ophthalmology, and the Mervin Zimmerman Award for Excellence, and many research publications in respected peer-reviewed medical journals. His research topics have included ophthalmic surgery training, biometry, and interesting ophthalmic cases. 

 

Dr. Murdock is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and American Medical Association.
