Dr. Charlton is married with two daughters. He enjoys skiing, hiking, travel, and golf. Dr. Charlton is board-certified in eye surgery by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. A member of the Academy of Ophthalmology, he has presented several significant research papers on advances in cornea surgery at Academy meetings. Dr. Charlton is a past president of the Utah Ophthalmological Society, and he continues to serve on the education committee. He has completed fellowship training in Glaucoma. His colleagues subsequently elected him to the Board of Directors of the International Society of Refractive Surgery.

Specializing in cataract and lens implant procedures, LASIK (laser) refractive surgery, and diseases of the cornea and external eye, Dr. Charlton has over 25 years experience in his home state of Utah. Dr. Charlton is board-certified in eye surgery by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. A member of the Academy of Ophthalmology, he has presented several significant research papers on advances in cornea surgery at Academy meetings.

Education

A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Utah State University, Dr. Charlton received early acceptance to the University of Utah School of Medicine. Upon graduation, he was accepted into a residency at the University of Utah Medical Center. After studying ophthalmology at Stanford University, he was selected for a fellowship in Cornea and External Eye Disease at the University of California, San Diego.
