Conductive Keratoplasty

CK (Conductive Keratoplasy) is a non-invasive office procedure to reduce dependence on reading glasses for people who are 45 years or older with good distance vision in both eyes.

It is usually performed in one eye (the non-dominant eye) only, but may need to be performed in both eyes if the dominant eye is mildy farsighted.

The advantage of CK is to reduce your dependence on reading glasses so that you can function throughout the day for most things without reaching for your readers. Remarkably CK will blur the distance vision very minimal and sometimes not at all in the treated eye.

This is called blended vision. This differs significantly from monovision obtained from wearing one contact lens or to do Lasik surgery for monovision.

Both of these procedures will significantly decrease your distance vision in the treated eye.

Dr, Wilkinson has had the procedure performed on himself and can explain the expectations to each individual patient depending on their
age and reading glass prescription.
